Intrument Processing

Present infection control techniques based upon the current knowledge of disease transmission demand that all instruments and devices used in and around the oral cavity be appropriately sterilized.

Utility gloves and protective clothing should be worn whenever any infection control procedure is performed.

Biological monitors should be used at least monthly, and a log of this monitoring should be maintained. Increasing the length of time between monitoring increases the chance of unknowingly relying upon an ineffective sterilizer.”
